I moved in with my packrat (hoarder?) boyfriend four years ago, and have tolerated the chaos fairly well until recently. The shift came when he started working nights. Now he's either sleeping or working and we barely have any quality time together, so I'm looking for ways to make my life more satisfying.
I have boxes upstairs that I haven't even unpacked, there is no space in the bathroom for my toiletries, my clothes are stacked and hung anywhere I can find room, and the kitchen cabinets are spilling over with an excess of canned goods and food. Walking to the washer and dryer in the basement is dangerous.
Everytime I attempt to make space by getting rid of things (such as OTC medicines dated 1999), I can feel his blood pressure rise. I can't live like this much longer. I grew up with a neat-freak mother.
I ordered your book from a local bookstore and should have it by Thursday. I hope it helps!
