I have quit telling anyone and just sell or donate what I don't want. I'm tired of people putting me on a quilt trip and don't understand why they are tied to my stuff!

klutzgrrl, I really agree with you on the 'let them sell it on ebay' thing. When we remodeled our kitchen, we had a stove and a fridge that were still working OK, but not very good and didn't go with the new kitchen. (I felt a bit bad ditching them for new, but they came with the house and the fridge didn't even have veggie drawers, etc, so they didn't work well for us). I posted them somewhere for free, craigslist or freecycle, and a guy came to pick them up. My handyman was there at the time and helped him. Handyman came back indignant that 'That guy had a whole truckload of appliances, he's probably setting up his rental property or reselling them'. To which I replied 'GOOD!!!!!'. I was glad that someone was going to use them, who maybe didn't have any fridge or stove and maybe the guy would make some money for his trouble.
Oh, and if a friend insisted on taking the china...I guess it is hers now and her problem. Not like she wasn't warned! :)
