Used up: mini bottles of shampoo and shower gel from a hotel visit last year.

The car looked so lovely decluttered and vacumned that I washed it and also washed all the inside windows and wiped down the dusty parts! :)

I decided to go through my jeans and get rid of the ones that were really ill fitting (I always bought the loose fit jeans which are big in the seat and thighs, but my problem is with getting my belly to fit, so they would fit my waist and then after an hour of wearing be inches and inches too wide in my legs). Unfortunately, it's hard for me to judge right now due to pregnancy, so I only got rid of one pair. However, having started that, I actually went through all my drawers and cleaned them and put away my laundry that had been living in a basket because my drawers were so gross. Tossed a lot of garbage (mainly receipts and other pocket detritus that had fallen in there). Also got rid of a couple pieces of sports equipment that I haven't used in 7 years that were for some reason stashed in my drawer. Tossed some much hated underwear. Also tossed a pair of white nylons, which I think MUST have been from my wedding 11 years ago! WHEN did I think I would use those again? I also put a coffee mug in the bag. I had bought it at a garage sale because it was kind of funny, but actually, it is funny in an insulting way plus it is ugly.
Just mashed up almost a whole box of peaches that I foolishly bought from the fruit truck guy a week ago. We ate some, but they were starting to go rotten and moldy. I am trying to make fruit leather out of it, so it's cooling right now and I'll finish it up after supper because it needs to sit in the oven for hours and hours.

Went through a huge box of programs from performances I've done. (I always try to grab a program as a keepsake.) Kept only the most meaningful playbills, or ones that I wanted to reference later. Put a few in my scrapbooking supplies for a project that I'm currently working on. Decluttered about 30%! yay!
Also starting packing for our big move north and went through my closet AGAIN- more stuff I was able to detach from, 2 pairs of shorts, my favorite sweater that had a big hole in it, and a couple of shirts that were not high quality. Clothing is starting to get a bit sparse-- reminded myself that as soon as we land in our new home I get to go shopping at my favorite store for items I actually *need* for the colder weather. And this time I will buy only high quality items in classic styles that match my other clothing. Even if that means I only buy 2 things!

Gone to the textile recycling/clothes donation bin - old winter coat, huge amount of old underwear, a few items of clothing which make me look frumpy now I'm bigger.
Most of my work clothes are one size too small, but I'm off work with anxiety at the moment. I don't know when I'll get back to work, so I've put them in a bag hidden away and if when I go back to work they're still too small, I'll possibly let them go. They've not gone, but at least a provisional decision has been made.

Uncluttered the cutlery drawer. The dustbuster is my new love :) The amount of bits of crap in there was ridiculous, those grooves are hard to clean crumbs out of but the dustbuster did a great job. Chucked away a stack of baby cutlery, plastic cutlery etc. My dh puts wine corks in there too (don't ask me why) so I took all of them out and am planning to make a cork board with them.

Donated:
5 novels, 2 travel booksTossed:
plastic bits and pieces from daughter's room
(she'll never notice they're gone)Apart from 2 books, no other 'stuff' (apart from groceries and possibly wine, which my husband buys) has entered the house this month.

i used to hoard wine corks in the cutlery drawer too!
i finally broke that habit last year.
now they go right into the recycling...................................................
using up as basin and toilet cleaner: commercial liquid soap that my house sitters left here and that i will never use on myself in a million years.
decluttered husband completely out of house for three weeks.
sent him back to paris with his mum!
while he is safely away, i'l be going through the workshop with a fine toothed and merciless comb.

yeah, what's with wine corks and the cutlery drawer? Sometimes I take them all out and use them as kindling on the fire but that only works in winter obviously!
Have fun with your fine-toothed comb, I can just imagine the cackling that went on when you waved goodbye to him!
Threw out some more papers from the paperwork pile. One of these days my dh and I really should sit down and mesh our systems...Posted 1 year ago # -
I used to have legions of wine corks in a kitchen drawer as well. Then I got 2 bottle stoppers (the expanding kind) and made a habit of recycling the corks right away.
Finished packing up boyfriend's apartment this weekend, and donated some dishes, teapots, glasses and misc. kitchen and bathroom things I haven't quite kept track of. Also gave his 4 plants to my mom, as they would not have survived moving in with my 2 cats.
Packed my off-season and non-essential clothes as well, but I'd decluttered those thoroughly, so nothing out from there. That cheered me up, actually. Getting rid of stuff feels good, but knowing you've pared down to the point where nothing jumps out at you as unnecessary or unloved is a great feeling.
Move in 4 days!

guilty! (hangs head in shame)
corks in the cutlery drawer. Why?
I don't like throwing out the glass corks for some reason. Probably because they seem like a novelty still.
Threw out a bunch before heading off on holiday. Still more in there.

Joining in here...I have been getting rid of stuff for awhile now and usually on a daily basis.
Here's yesterday's items:
Shower Radio that was non-useable went into the trash. I kept the batteries since they weren't expired, but I'm not sure if they have any juice left in them.Old flower pot with some old dirt also went into the trash. It was sitting on the front porch empty for several years.
Today's items so far:
2 eyeliners, 1 lipliner, 1 tube of mascara went into the trash.Posted 1 year ago # -
To give away area: 3 books returned by my mom (I didn't want them in the first place). One winter beanie (never worn) and one ear warmer (UGLY)...

OUT - shredded a bunch of last year's receipts and a stack of those annoying checks they send with the credit card bill. Canceled a low-limit, never-used credit card, since my other 2 are now paid off completely and I now have more credit than I will ever need to use. Also tossed the used shredder I got from Sis yesterday, that had been left behind at her cabin by previous owner. I killed it and couldn't fix it. Ooooops. Also cleared desk clutter by working through a stack of papers waiting in the Action pile - called and waited on hold for several companies to update addresses and phone numbers, and bogged my way through several online profile changes. Uncluttering the to-do list feels good, even if it's not visual clutter!

Bin: another bath toy, this one too old to be donated. Still a mountain to go - I want my bath back!

4 large canvas totes of work materials hauled back to school, lots of material recycled, usual recycling, few items from the closet that were past their sell-by date (actually ditched those on vacation, came back with room in my tiny suitcase and I had bought a whack of pottery in Ravello! ;)

Had a productive weekend.
Laid to rest an old shabby fuschia plant and an equally old shabby maidenhair fern. Divided my spider plant into newly vacant two-tiered planter. Put five spider plant babies into hoarded jars from my cupboard.
Read two books and added to Donate pile.
Also to Donate: pair of hip-hop sneakers; 6 pair of Chinese-style chopsticks (I've learned we like Japanese-style better); 1 music cd; 2 votive candle holders; and 1 Bundt cake pan shaped like a little castle, totally cute but takes a day and a half to clean, life is too short!!
AND took out a dress I've had for years and only worn once, and started turning it into a costume for an October show. Repurposing counts, right?

@jbeany - I immediately shred the last page of my credit card bill - the one with the check - when it comes. The envelope and advertising go in the trash. Same thing with utility bills and their "newsletter" in each bill.
Donate: 2 fry pans that are not "non-stick;" a Pampered Chef mandolin; an old down jacket that's worn but still warm; and a corduroy long skirt I had in my 20's which doesn't fit, still love the fabric though. :)
