Just to keep you all updated.... I can still only see page 234 with S as the last poster, though the front page says NTCH is the latest poster, which means she is on page 235, but it won't flip over for me. I have added this one thread as an RSS feed, but that is not the way I prefer to read. I come to the forum home and read those threads that have new entries since my last visit. (Clicking on the right side/red names to get to the end of the thread).

@NTCH - Sorry for not replying sooner... the thread hasn't been working for me until now. Lol. I have read and re-read my post and I really don't see any verbal abuse. If you see it then I am truly sorry, that is not how I inteded it. At all. I only wrote it as I wanted to make you feel welcome in the new thread.

Thanks to all who read my post the way I intended it. This makes me less worried about the way I express myself!

I still do think that if the thread isn't working for everyone we should all try to adjust. The reason wasn't to start a new thread just for fun - this thread is still acting up for a lot of people!

Like last time we started a new thread the old one will probably get locked for new entries anyway.

And @Ninakk - I'm a girl, not a dude. :)

Since I was the person who started the new "End of the Year ATAD" thread, I feel I should add a word here. I had been seeing the page-turnover problem for about two to three weeks prior to the spate of complaints about it. This thread is now so heavily laden with posts that it stalls at the end of a page, and it takes either several more posts or several hours or days until the new page will "catch." I've seen this happen on other forums I belong to, and the quick and easy solution is to just start a new thread and continue from there. So, seeing that enough people were experiencing the problem on this thread, I started a new one to carry us through the end of the year.

Whether anyone prefers to post here or there, is up to the individual. No harm done either way. NTCH can continue using this thread if she likes to have that continuity, as long as she doesn't mind the glitch every time a page turnover is due. For myself, it was annoying not to be able to see recent posts here, and I'm glad the new thread is working for everybody.

The process of decluttering necessarily requires letting go of things that don't serve us any longer, including poorly functioning threads.

Oh my goodness, so much wasted energy and emotion over nothing!

I found Swede's post perfectly civil, polite, and helpful. NTCH, your comments are the ones making this into a nastygram.

My opinion? NTCH is using this thread not as a forum, but more as a decluttering journal. Now, a journal is a good thing to have, but if keeping track of your progress is what's important to you, rather than creating a conversation with others, you may want to keep this record in a more permanent place over which you have complete control - such as a blog or a file on your computer or a notebook.

The purpose of a forum is different - it's not just to keep track of your personal progress, but also to share and interact with others, get and give advice, and create a conversation. And for that, sometimes you have to adapt and go where the conversation is. Now, no one is forcing you to stop posting in this thread, we are just trying to include everyone in that conversation, in a thread that works for us ALL and not just for some. I think this is the point that Swede is making as well - we are trying to keep you involved in the discussion; if you prefer to isolate yourself for the sake of consistency, that is your decision.

NTCH, you really seem to have some control issues. You went through the same thing when we started a new thread at the first of the year. The consensus, as it were, was to go to the new thread, which is why most everyone is posting there now. It really shouldn't turn into a major emotional issue.

Try read the books - fits - really - something many people don't know about. Try and read the first one and you may be surprised - many people are. I was actually grateful to have read the books and learned so much from them. Try it, you might appreciate it.

Looks like it was a temporary glich and works good now. There was a glich and delay earlier, but it seems to have cleared up. Sometimes the internet is like that when cyber attacks or "stuff" is going on. I had delayed postings for a while but now they are back to quick postings.

I am used to consensus rather than governance by fiat or unilateral action. Where I come from a proposal is made then people vote and the people who abstain from voting are counted as no votes. If you want to switch go ahead but stop attacking others and criticizing them for how they feel. That, my dear, is a form of verbal abuse, according to the books. Perhaps you will read one.
